There is no consent banner on this site, because there is nothing here to consent to.

Ferrum runs no analytics, sets no advertising cookies, and lets no other company store anything in your browser. Everything it does keep is either required to sign you in or a setting you chose yourself, which is why you are reading a list instead of dismissing a dialog.

Here is all of it.

Cookies

ferrum_session

Set when you sign in, removed when you sign out. It holds the credential that keeps you signed in, and it is the reason your account works at all. It cannot be read by scripts, is sent only on requests to this site, and expires when the credential inside it does.

ferrum_tz

Set only on your own activity page, and only by that page. It holds the name of your timezone — Europe/London, for instance — so that the server can convert your hours into the right ones before drawing the punchcard. Without it a chart of your working day is drawn in the wrong hours. It holds nothing else, and the timezone is not stored on the server.

Stored in the browser rather than in a cookie

Neither of these is sent anywhere. Both stay in your browser, on the machine you are reading this on.

ferrum-theme

Whether you chose light or dark. Written when you use the theme switch, and read before the page paints so that a dark page never flashes white first. Untouched, the site follows your system setting and stores nothing.

A theme you are working on

The theme editor keeps your work-in-progress in the tab while you carry it to the publish page. It is cleared when the tab closes.

What other people's sites might set

Pages here load two typefaces from Google's font servers, which means your browser makes a request to Google carrying your IP address and browser user-agent. Google sets no cookie for it, but the request is made, and it is the only one this site makes to another company. It is on the privacy page as well, since it is the more honest place to look for it than a cookie list.

A package page can link to a publisher's own site or repository. Following one of those links takes you somewhere with its own rules; nothing on this site is loaded from them.

Turning any of it off

Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all four. Clearing ferrum_session signs you out; the other three simply go back to their defaults. There is no switch here to offer, because there is nothing switched on that you did not ask for.

If that ever changes — if analytics or an embedded third-party widget is added — this page gets a real choice on it, with declining as easy as accepting, and nothing loading until you have said.
